In the latest "Scream Queens" season 2 promo, Lea Michele (who plays Hester Ulrich) wears a familiar mask, appearing as a version of the iconic psychopathic villain Hannibal Lecter from "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991).

In a tweet shared with her followers on Wednesday, Aug. 17, Michele shared the latest clip from the upcoming season of the popular Fox show, captioning it: "We're back.. Get ready for season 2 in September." The actress added the hashtag #hannibalhester to her post.

Judging from the teaser, "Scream Queens" season 2 is throwing it back to popular horror films, with a hospital setting as in "Halloween 2" (2009) and featuring a new killer inspired by the infamous Hannibal from the Oscar-winning film.

In the first season of the black comedy/satirical horror, Hester was revealed to be the Red Devil killer, a serial killer who used the fictional Wallace University's mascot as a disguise. The season 2 trailer reveals that in the upcoming season, Dean Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) is keeping Hester's murderous tendencies in check by restraining her a la Hannibal in the popular film.

In "Scream Queens" season 2, Michele and Curtis will be joining fellow returnees Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, and Abigail Breslin. The new season will also feature a bunch of new faces, with John Stamos, Taylor Lautner, and Colton Haynes confirmed to be boarding the series.

Meanwhile, the new season, which picks up three years after the events in season 1, will reportedly find the Chanels as medical students at Munch's asylum-turned-hospital. In addition, Chanel and company will be living a very different lifestyle from the one they enjoyed in season 1.

"They have fallen from glamour," "Scream Queens" star Emma Roberts told the press during the show's panel at Comic-Con last month. "It's really funny seeing them trying to hold on to their style when they have no money. They have to work, which is something really foreign to them."

"Scream Queens" season 2 debuts on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
