Seattle Seahawks injury news: Wilson sprained his MCL
The Seattle Seahawks recently beat the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 of the National Football League but they may have lost a lot more in the process.
It was a convincing 37-18 victory, with the win propelling the Seahawks to the top half of the NFC West standing alongside the Los Angeles Rams with 2-1 records.
On the other hand, the Niners drop to 1-2 for the season and find themselves tied with the Arizona Cardinals for the last place in the NFC West.
However, the Seahawks were hit with a big injury as quarterback Russell Wilson went down in the third quarter of the game as Eli Harold of the Niners went on him for a sack.
Russell made his way back to finish the drive in that play, but he ultimately sat out the rest of the game. Back-up quarterback Trevone Boykin finished the match with a win for the Seahawks.
Being a little more specific, NFL reported that Wilson suffered from a sprained MCL and is scheduled for further testing in the coming days.
The fall was gruesome and the way his leg twisted was concerning but the Seahawks quarterback believes it is not as bad as it seems.
He said: "I don't think it's [as] severe as it looked. I have good mobility. ... You always feel better when you win."
Now the question remains whether Wilson is ready to play in their next game. In the early part of the season, it may be a big risk to let Wilson play as things could have been worse and he may not be out of the woods just yet.
Trainers and rehab doctors should work overtime to help out Wilson who is also trying to play despite a problem with his ankle.
The Seahawks are definitely one of the best teams in the league, especially with Wilson as their quarterback. However, pressing the issue may result in something worse and they may be without him if he continues to push his luck.
