'Sense8' season 2 spoilers, plot news: Major changes afoot; Toby Onwumere talks 'connection' with cast members

Netflix's sci-fi series "Sense8" has been busily crafting and working on its upcoming season two. The show made its debut only a year ago, but its surprising turns and powerful episodes have made it an instant favorite among Netflix users. Needless to say, there is much to look forward to in "Sense8" season 2, most of which may turn out to be surprisingly big changes, if only it could come around soon enough.

First off, the Wachowski sister tandem will be down to half, with Lilly Wachowski taking a leave of absence after an eventful coming out a couple of months back. Lana Wachowski will be taking the reins for this upcoming season as director. It is possible that Lilly will be back for the third season, should it be given the chance, although there is no cause for concern over only having one sister this time around.

Another expected change will be coming about as Capheus, who was played by Aml Ameen, is being re-cast due to some disagreement between Lana and Ameen. Since the story of Capheus is essential to the story, it was deemed a better decision to re-cast the character rather than write him out. Actor Toby Onwumere has been confirmed to be the new Capheus.

Onwumere came in while the production for season two was under way. He has expressed his feeling of "connection" with the other members of the cast upon joining. He said, "I remember going into the restaurant and ... I saw the energy of this family immediately."

The new cast addition commented on the group's "unified energy" and how he wanted to become part of that. He admitted that he felt his connection with the "Sense8" family right away upon meeting them.

"Sense8" season 2 will be released sometime next year, although a special episode to jumpstart the new season will be aired later in the year.
