'Sense8' season 2 spoilers news: Kala locates Whisper as sinister characters join upcoming season

The cast and crew of "Sense8" are not holding back from sharing tidbits about the upcoming season, even while its premiere won't be happening until 2017.

In a recent interview, the cast and crew dished on the new, sinister characters that fans should watch out for in season 2. Apparently, the eight Sensates will face very tough challenges that could test their mettle.

Max Riemelt, who plays Wolfgang on the series, said his character would find himself in a new place, Berlin to be exact, complete with new villains and new characters. Fans know that the show's premise includes the eight Sensates finding themselves in different locations from time to time.

"There are new power games taking place, new dark characters who come after him - he has to restructure everything," Riemelt said in the interview.

However, that is not all that Wolfgang would be dealing with in season 2. He would also be involved in a love triangle with Kala (Tina Desai) and Rajan (Purab Kohli). According to Desai, while the love triangle arc will be further explored in the upcoming season, Kala will become more functional to the group as she continues to discover more about herself.

Movie News Guide reported that Kala's brilliance would be put to the test as she tracks down Whisper. Season 2 would apparently see Kala Dandekar as more than just a pretty face. Her skills as a pharmacist would be also be put under the spotlight.

"Going forward, she'll only be able to contribute more, because, in this season, there's more of Whisper hunting us while we're simultaneously trying to hunt him," Desai told Buzzfeed.

Michael J. Straczynski, the show's creator, told Gold Derby that what sets "Sense8" apart from other series is its ability to make people realize that unity is much better than division. He said that through the series, they wish to show people that they can make things better, despite culture or political differences, when they stick together.

"Sense8" season 2's tentative air date is sometime in January 2017, but a Christmas special will be aired on Netflix.
