'Skyrim: Special Edition' news, updates: Steam offers remastered version for free
"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Special Edition will be launched this week and lucky gamers might be able to get it for free.
Gamers who purchased the game on Steam will be able to get their hands on the special edition for free. Those who are eligible for this bonus are those who have purchased the Legendary Edition of the game or the standard game with all three of its downloadable content (DLC). Players who lack a DLC or two still have a chance to acquire the game for free, as long as they purchase the necessary requirements before the week ends. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers, on the other hand, will have to purchase the game at its full price.
The remastered version of Bethesda Game Studios' popular open-world RPG game will be set in the empire of Tamriel. The kingdom will be in peril when the High King of Skyrim is murdered. The empire will face more threats when the Dragons are reawakened and brought to Tamriel. Gamers will portray the role of the prophesized Dragonborn. Players must accomplish the necessary quests and defeat the dragons to save the empire from ruin.
According to reports, the upcoming game will need around 22.75 GB of space. Since the game will contain all the DLCs, updates and additional features, it's no wonder that the game takes up so much space.
"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Special Edition will be launched in various regions through Steam on the following dates: 5 p.m. PT on Oct. 27, 8 p.m. EDT on Oct. 27, 1 a.m. BST on Oct. 28, 2 a.m. CEST on Oct. 28, 11 a.m. AEST on Oct. 28, and 1 p.m. NZST on Oct. 28.
The Special Edition will be made available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
