'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 air date, news, updates: 'Once Upon a Time' actor joins cast as handsome internet sensation
"Sleepy Hollow" will introduce a new male character when the series returns early next year.
According to reports, actor Robbie Kay has recently landed a recurring role on Fox's significantly revamped supernatural series. In the upcoming season, lead character Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) continues his mission as he finds himself relocated to Washington, D.C.
Following Abbie Mills' (Nicole Beharie) unexpected death at the end of season 3, Ichabod will work with his new partner, Homeland Security agent Diana ("True Blood" alumna Janina Gavankar), along with a small team of researchers. Diana is a single mother to an intelligent 10-year-old daughter named Molly ("MasterChef Junior" Season 2 contestant Oona Yaffe).
Kay has been tapped to portray Logan MacDonald, a very attractive and charming Internet celebrity loved by tween girls all over the world — including Molly. Kay is popularly known for his role as Peter Pan/Henry Millys/Pied Piper in ABC's fantasy drama "Once Upon a Time" and as Tommy Clark in NBC's miniseries "Heroes Reborn." The young actor will next be seen in two feature films next year: "No Postage Necessary" and "Locating Silver Lake."
Before meeting up with Diana, Ichabod will be accompanied by Abbie's sister Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) as he travels to Washington, D.C. The series will also welcome a new villain, eccentric tech mogul Malcolm Dreyfuss (Jeremy Davies), including his villainous allies Jake Wells (Jerry MacKinnon)—a supernatural phenomena expert—and Alex Norwood (Rachel Melvin)—an engineering prodigy. Additionally, Ichabod's son Henry Parrish (John Noble) is set to return as one of the season's bad guys.
Unfortunately for fans, Beharie wasn't the only one who left the show last season. Series regular characters Sophie Foster (Jessica Camacho), Daniel Reynolds (Lance Gross) and Betsy Ross (Nikki Reed) will no longer be back next season.
The 13-episode fourth season of "Sleepy Hollow" premieres on Friday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. The first episode is titled "Columbia."
