A familiar big bad travels to D.C. on the upcoming episode of Fox's supernatural drama "Sleepy Hollow" season 4.

Titled "Heads of State," this week's episode features the return of a villainous character. According to the official synopsis, one of Ichabod's (Tom Mison) greatest enemies comes to town. His mission is to threaten the safety of Washington's high-ranking officials, and it is up to the team to find a solution immediately. Jake's wide knowledge of the tunnels becomes an important part of their quest as they try to uncover a secret from the past that could lead to more answers.

Last week's episode finally revealed Abbie Mills' (former cast member Nicole Beharie) successor in the fight against evil. As some fans guessed, the next Witness is Diana's (Janina Gavankar) little daughter, Molly (Oona Yaffe). Ichabod first met Molly in a dream designed to help him search for his next partner. At the time, he is still unaware that she is Diana's daughter. While working on a case with Agent Thomas, Ichabod was shocked when he saw a photo of Molly on Diana's phone. Ichabod and Molly eventually met face-to-face outside of her school. The episode wrapped up with Ichabod and Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) thinking about how they'll break the news to Diana.

Mison recently caught up with TV Line, and he shared his thoughts on Friday's plot twist. According to the actor, he was also surprised when he found out that Molly, the show's youngest character, is the new Witness.

"There were lots of different avenues that the new Witness could've gone down. An 11-year-old girl certainly wasn't one that I saw coming," he said, adding, "For Ichabod, to see that it's an 11-year-old girl, knowing the sort of battle that she's entering, how could anyone be enthused? How could he be excited that he's found the next Witness, when it's a child?"

The fourth season of "Sleepy Hollow" airs every Friday night at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
