'Solarix' Release Date News: Sci-Fi Horror Game Due for Launch on PC Via Steam this Week
If you are in the mood for a sci-fi horror game, then you could be in luck this week as "Solarix" is due for release exclusively on Windows PC on Thursday, April 30. The game, to be released via Steam, will allow players to indulge both in stealth and combat-based play styles.
The game has been described as amalgamation of traditional sci-fi elements with cutting edge graphics and style. At the heart of the game are the happenings at a space station where a deadly and mysterious infection has spread and only an electrical engineer has managed to survive. After Walter the engineer wakes up, he has to rely on the AI present on the ship for help. He then has to stop the spread of the infection while dealing with the other crew members who have succumbed to it and even battle with his own mental health issues.
The description on Steam also stated that the object in the game is not to provide a series of "jump scares" and "cheap thrills" and leave it at that but to create a world that fills the player with insecurity, fear and desperation.
The game includes 12 chapters that are open ended and can be played by switching between stealth or combat mode. Each has a number of puzzles based on exploration and information gathering.
PC Gamer stated that going by the trailer which was released recently, it appears that the game is mostly designed for stealth mode, but players can use their limited ammunition to kill enemies when required.
Last month, the beta testing phase of the game was completed. The developer, Pulsetense Games, noted on its blog that it spent considerable time incorporating many changes suggested by testers into the game. These include improved tutorials and maps for missions and framerate changes. "Solarix" will be priced at $20 after it is launched.
