With the expected launching of the Sony Xperia Z4 during the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, this coming March, rumors have started to surface about the device.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission recently approved a mysterious device from Sony which led many sources to speculate that it was the soon to be released Sony Xperia Z4.

M.W.C. 2015 is scheduled to take place between March 2-5, and many sources predict that Sony is going to be a major player in that event as it is expected to release the Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4 Compact. Sony is also expected to introduce several new tablets and new wearable products in its SmartWear range.

GSMArena, reporting on the appearance of the device at the FCC, said the Xperia Z4 will support 2, 5 and 7 LTE bands. It also cited the previous certification of the device in Japan where it will be available on three major carriers, namely NTT DoCoMo, SoftBank and KDDI. These three carriers support LTE and VoLTE, which is the latest technology for voice calls and has been gaining traction with service providers.

As for the features of the Xperia Z4, many expect Sony to keep the stunning 5.2" Triluminos display that the current Z3 has.

Rumors point towards two variants, one of which will have 5.2-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels while the other version will come with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels.

The device will have better water resistance due to an improved microUSB port that has in the past been damaged when the cover allowed for leaks.

The Xperia Z4 will reportedly continue with its solid metal frame. As for its specs, the flagship smartphone from Sony is rumored to have a Snapdragon 810 SoC and 4GB of RAM.
