Sony brought out its Xperia Z4 tablet earlier this month. Last year, one of the best tablets to hit the market was the Nexus 9. Here's how the two compare.
Design
When it comes to design the Xperia Z4 and the Nexus 9 are pretty similar as both have minimal metal. The Xperia Z4 has mineral glass on its front and back and stainless steel running along its edge. As for the Nexus 9 it has a body made from plastic and a metal band around its edge. A major advantage of the Xperia Z4 is that it is bigger, has brighter screen, and water and dust resistance rating of IP68, which means it can be placed in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes with incurring damage.
Display
The display on the Xperia Z4 is an IPS LCD screen measuring 10.1 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a density of 299 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the Nexus 9 has an IPS LCD screen measuring 8.9 inches with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and a density of 281pixels per inch.
Specs
The Xperia Z4 benefits immensely from being released recently. As such it has better specs in the form of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz along with an Adreno 430 GPU. The Nexus 9 has an Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset, dual core 2.3 GHz Denver CPU and Kepler DX1 GPU.
Memory
In terms of memory slots, the Xperia Z4 has a version which allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. It also has 32 GB internal storage and 3 GB RAM. There's no memory slot on the Nexus 6, which comes with either 16 or 32 GB of internal storage and 2 GB RAM.
Price
The basic model of the Xperia Z4 is priced at around $559 while the 16 GB Nexus 9 has a tag of $349.
