While the Sony Xperia Z4 is dwarfed by the sheer size of the Nexus 6 from Motorola, the latest Sony device stands out for its better specs.
Design
The Nexus 6 is a huge device compared to its competitor, but to keep costs low Motorola decided to use metallic plastic on its back panel and combined with a metal edge. As for the Xperia Z4, it has a metal frame and glass on its back panel, which gives it a premium look. Comparing the water proof rating on the devices, the Nexus 6 can only withstand splashes while the Xperia Z4 has a better IP 68 rating and can be immersed up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.
Display
The device from Motorola dominates its competitor when it comes to its display as it has a bigger and better quality screen. It has an AMOLED capacitive screen measuring 5.96 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 493 pixels per inch. The Xperia Z4 has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.
Specs
In a comparison of specs, the Xperia Z4 surges ahead as has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, along with a four Cortex-A53 cores and four Cortex-A57 cores and an Adreno 430 GPU. The Nexus 6 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, coupled with a quad-core Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU.
Memory
The Nexus 6 is hampered in this area as it does not have a memory slot for external storage while the Xperia Z4 has a slot which can used to add up to 128 GB. In terms of RAM, both devices have 3 GB each.
Price
The Sony Xperia Z4 could be priced at $900 when it arrives in the United States. Its two-year contract price could be at par with other smartphones. As for the Nexus 6, it costs $249 with a two-year contract.
