"Star War Rebels" season 3 is finally back on giving a weekly fix at least until next week, and the show is going back to its main core with Ezra and Kanan infiltrating the Imperial factory.

Titled "An Inside Man," the padawan and his master embark on a mission that will have their boots on the ground of a tightly guarded Empire territory in Lothal. While it is not clear what their intentions are, they stumble upon a particularly tricky situation in which they receive help from an unusual person from the opposite side of the Rebellion.

The narrative sounds very familiar to an episode earlier in the season in which Sabine had to go on her own covert mission in the Imperial Academy to break out pilots that were supposedly wanting to get out including Wedge Antilles. It can be remembered that at one point, Sabine and her recruits were captured back just when Ezra and the crew were about to pick them up and jump into hyperspace. After devising a plan to try escaping again, Agent Kallus eventually helped them in securing their freedom not just by letting them go but actually helping them ditch the Stormtroopers chasing the crew.

However, things will be a bit more difficult for Kanan and Ezra as Grand Admiral Thrawn is also at the forefront of the episode. In a promo clip for the installment, the calm ruthlessness in the Chiss tactician's DNA is very much obvious during a huddle that he is manning. Needless to say, the Ghost crew members are assumed to being able to pull off the mission but it is quite interesting to know who the mole in the Empire might be.

In retrospect, Kallus is still a good choice given the arc that his character is treading since that episode back in season 2 with Zeb, which started him to question his purpose in the Imperial ranks. But it can also be someone who is totally a curveball. The person in question may even have a revelation in terms of this year's Fulcrum. Folks over at the Jedi Council who had the privilege of watching the episode beforehand teased that the upcoming installment brings more juice into the overall narrative that "Rebels" is telling in season 3. The last couple of installments have been telling more of smaller stories and character building pieces, but this one ultimately ties in nicely with the show as a whole.

"Star Wars Rebels" season 3 airs every Saturday, 8:30 p.m. ET, on Disney XD.
