Star Wars Episode 7 Spin-Off Movies Release Date, Cast Rumors: Aaron Paul Playing Han Solo?

With the upcoming release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" generating a lot of buzz on the Internet, attention has turned to the three spinoff movies that were announced in May this year. Recent rumors indicate that "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul could play Han Solo in one of those films.

Paul has been on fire since appearing in the hit TV series "Breaking Bad" and gathering a slew of awards. Since the series has concluded, the actor is free to take up a role in one of the spinoffs or even all three of them.

While there has been no official confirmation of Paul's participation in the spinoffs, the rumors surrounding his casting were first mentioned by the website makingstarwars.net. The site, which deals with news and rumors surrounding the upcoming Star Wars movies and spinoffs, stated that Paul has shown interest in playing the role of Han Solo.

MTV said that Making Star Wars had previously reported several rumors about "Star Wars: The Force Awakens " which turned out to be accurate. However, MTV said this does not mean the recent rumor about the Han Solo spinoff could be real. If it was real, it could mean that the spinoff would be a prequel to the Star Wars film franchise and feature a younger Han.

The possibility of a younger Han was also hinted in the original report on Making Star Wars which stated that the spinoff would be shot in Pinewood Studios and would be code-named "Luminac Industrial Goods." The report said the movie would be directed by Gareth Edwards.

The Hollywood Reporter earlier reported that three new spinoff films were being put into production by Disney and they would be released in between the main films in the Star Wars franchise. The first spinoff film from the franchise was also reported to be slated for release on Dec. 16, 2016.
