'Star Wars: Episode 8' spoilers: another Darth Vader connection teased; new details on Rey's training with Luke revealed
It looks like Darth Vader's Force will reverberate from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" all the way to the next film, "Star Wars: Episode 8."
It was revealed by story development executive Pablo Hidalgo that a Vader scene from the Felicity Jones-headlined standalone film that recently hit theaters was indeed set in the Sith lord's castle in Mustafar.
This led prolific "Star Wars" speculator and insider Mike Zeroh to posit that Darth Vader could also be featured in "Star Wars: Episode 8" in some way, shape or form.
Along with a representative of the Chris Cross Media, Zeroh surmised that Mustafar might once again be part of the next "Star Wars" film as Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) continues to emulate the villain.
They believe that the inclusion of Mustafar in "Rogue One" is not just to put Darth Vader in a familiar setting in the film, but also to set up its reappearance in "Star Wars: Episode 8."
It could be that Kylo Ren's idolization of Darth Vader will lead him to discover more about his grandfather. Of course, this is only mere speculation so fans are advised to take it with a pinch of salt.
In another round of "Star Wars: Episode 8" spoilers from Making Star Wars, it is revealed that Ahch-To, the planet where Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) lived after all these years and the same one where Rey (Daisy Ridley) finds him at the end of the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," is home to exotic animals that the Jedi took responsibility of protecting.
Some of the creatures that thrive there are reportedly called the puffins, which Making Star Wars described as both terrifying and adorable. They apparently look like "a bird mixed with a Gremlin."
These puffins have grown fond of Luke, but not so much of Rey. Since she will train in Ahch-To with Luke in "Star Wars: Episode 8," she might want to win these guys over.
This is why as part of her training, Rey will be tasked to fight a large monster, which she is able to do so, gaining the trust of the puffins.
"Star Wars: Episode 8" will hit the cinemas Dec. 15, 2017.
