By the end of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," audiences knew that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) was the grandchild of Darth Vader and that he was obsessed with him. Even Kylo's look is reminiscent of the Dark Lord of the Sith, but fans had no idea how much of Kylo's aesthetic is actually derived from Vader's costume itself.

Making Star Wars reported that Kylo will be sporting an upgraded look in "Star Wars Episode VIII." Ren will be wearing the same mask from the first movie, but his robes will be different this time around.

They said that the new look will be reminiscent of Luke's (Mark Hamill) costume from "Return of the Jedi," and that the most notable thing about it is the cape. Apparently, the cape that Kylo will wear is the same as Vader's. The origin of the cape is still pretty murky, but that mystery will probably be answered when the movie comes out.

In other news, J.J. Abrams shed some light on the relationships between the characters in the movie. During his commentary on the "Force Awakens" Blu-ray, Abrams said, "One of the new relationships that we were focusing on was between Kylo Ren and Rey [Daisy Ridley]. They've never met but he's heard of this girl."

Some fans have been skeptical about the lines since it could only mean that Kylo already knows about Rey and her escape from the First Order in Jakku. However, it is possible that he knows more about Rey's history than Rey herself. Fans have even guessed that the both of them could have be cousins or siblings.

The untitled "Star Wars Episode VIII" is set to come out next year on Dec. 15. Stay tuned for more updates.
