As a collective gasp rippled through the audience, it became clear that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) had just cemented himself as one of the most hated villains in the "Star Wars" franchise. But despite committing the vile act, Ren doesn't seem to be as evil as some of the past villains. In fact, he looked conflicted after he stabbed his father, Han Solo (Harrison Ford), with his lightsaber. What was going through his head during the encounter? Did he regret doing it?

Well, fans might get to know more about Ren in "Star Wars: Episode VIII." In an interview with Larry King Now (via ScreenCrush), Driver was asked what aspect of his character he was most looking forward to explore, and he said it is Ren's humanity.

"I think maybe this is such a general answer but you know, humanity. Even though it's very much a blockbuster movie, and I'm aware of that, there was no taking that for granted and that we were forced to be general [in 'The Force Awakens']," he said. "There was a lot of plot points that we knew were operating in the first one, that we get to explain more in the second one, that kind of make both of them make sense," he added.

Meanwhile, reports say the creative teams for "Star Wars: Episode VIII" and "Star Wars: Episode IX" are going to have a meeting to discuss Leia Organa's (Carrie Fisher) role in the sequels. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Leia was supposed to have two key scenes in the sequels: a reunion with her brother, Luke (Mark Hamill), and a confrontation with her son, Ren.

The publication pointed out that they could just write Leia out of the scenes and change the script, or they could use computer graphics imagery (CGI) to bring the character to life. The studio has already done this with Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," and Leia herself was de-aged for that film.

"Star Wars: Episode VIII" is scheduled to come out on Dec. 14.
