'Star Wars Episode VIII' rumors: Possible script leak reveals more about Supreme Leader Snoke
The filming of Rian Johnson's "Star Wars Episode VIII" has officially wrapped, and though the movie is expected to hit December next year, fans are still scrambling around the internet for more information on the movie. Disney has kept security on the movie plot extremely tight, but a supposed leak has revealed that Supreme Leader Snoke is apparently the father of Anakin Skywalker.
In a Youtube video from Star Wars Theory, a supposed leak from the script describes Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) going into a First Order facility to find Rey (Daisy Ridley) after she was abducted by First Order troops. He then finds himself face to face with the head of the Order, Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis), who reveals more information about Anakin Skywalker himself. He was apparently present when Anakin was still a child, and the scene ends with Snoke saying: "Of course. After all, what father doesn't see his own creation?"
"Star Wars" canon explained that Anakin Skywalker was of a virgin birth, and his powers of the Force came from being conceived out of midi-chlorian manipulation, and there has been a theory going around that Palpatine himself was the very person who made Shmi Skywalker's pregnancy possible.
Snoke's line of referring to Anakin as his "creation" fits the theory that Anakin was some type of Force experiment, but then again, it's possible that Lucasfilm has something else in store for the franchise.
One popular theory is that Snoke was Emperor Palpatine's former master, Darth Plagueis, who had managed to cheat his own death after Palpatine betrayed him.
Many fans have marked the leak as false, seeing that Disney has been very keen on keeping any info on the story tightly shut, but only time will tell if this fan theory will hold up.
"Star Wars Episode VIII" is scheduled to hit theaters in December 2017.
