"I want to thank God, obviously for the health, for the talent he's given me, for my family who supports me, for the things that basketball's taught me on and off the court. For the people that I've been able to meet through the game of basketball," said the Christian player in his acceptance speech, in a report by CSN Bay Area. "I've been blessed in that regard through and through. So I'm just thankful for this opportunity to play the game that I love and share that with the world."

Curry also gave special thanks to his wife Ayesha, his family, and the Warriors organization.

When asked about how he wanted to be remembered as a player, Curry was quick to acknowledge his God-given ability and talents, but added that he's also done it by putting in a lot of work.

"So I want to be remembered as somebody that worked hard and got the most out of my potential and talent and pushed the envelope," he concluded during the press conference.

According to an official release posted on the NBA website, Curry joins NBA legends Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Steve Nash as the only guards to win the MVP award in consecutive seasons.

NBA listed Curry's achievements for this season alone including becoming the very first to average at least 30 points, six assists, five rebounds, and two steals in one season, and becoming the first Warriors player to lead the NBA in scoring since Barry in 1966-67. The 28-year-old has also led the Warriors to become the first team in the history of NBA with 1,000 points after making 1,077 three-pointers. Almost half of the three-pointers were Curry's.
