'Steven Universe' season 4 release date, news: Sneak peek of the next episode, 'Onion Gang'

Believe it or not, there was a time when "Steven Universe" fans had to wait for months on end before they could get new episodes of the Cartoon Network hit show. As of now, the new episodes are coming in weekly and fans couldn't complain. A new sneak peek has been leaked online for the next episode, "Onion Gang."

Thanks to Steven Universe Inc. on Youtube, fans get a preview of what could be happening in the next episode. The clip doesn't really reveal much of the story but it looks like Steven has been spending more quality time with the Beach City weirdo, Onion.

The clip just has Steven narrating to himself everything that he sees Onion doing and it ends with Steven watching Onion looking out the window and Steven saying, "And no snack can satisfy his hunger... for power." Onion then gets a dramatic zoom-in.

Episodes with Onion are usually filler episodes for the series but some fans speculate that Onion's "gang" in the story will compromise of some mutated gem shards that he has managed to befriend.

The issue with the Gem Cluster seems to have been resolved for now, but nothing has been said about the mutated gems that have found themselves above ground. Hopefully the episode gives the audience some new insights on how mutated gems can be handled.

If Onion has been able to find a way to communicate with the mutated gems, then Steven may be able to find a way to fix the corruption that's infected the lot of them. It's all just speculation as of now, but knowing Onion, he may just have more surprises hidden up his sleeve.

The next episode of "Steven Universe" comes out on Thursday, Sept. 15, only on Cartoon Network.
