Despite initial rumors that Cartoon Network's "Steven Universe" is up for cancellation, the show still debuted a new episode titled "Gem Harvest," much to the delight of fans.

The "Gem Harvest" episode was already speculated earlier to be the show's comeback episode and it is part of a Thanksgiving special as the new episode revolved around the theme of planting and harvesting.

Now that the episode has finally aired, fans are anticipating the ninth episode which, according to spoilers, will be about Steven and Greg reminiscing about the first winter they spent together.

As Connie left before the first snowdrops fell, Greg remembered how he spends his winter with baby Steven years earlier.

It may also be remembered that earlier spoilers for season 4 of "Steven Universe" suggested that an episode or some episodes will be about Rose Quartz, though no recent teasers are showing this yet.

In addition, another round of cancellation rumors is still hounding the animated coming-of-age show. There are theories that "Steven Universe" will be off the network after it airs its incoming ninth episode because it allegedly garnered low ratings for its latest "Gem Harvest" episode. Some, however, speculate that what will happen is only a hiatus, and not a total cancellation.

However, no such confirmation was heard from Cartoon Network or from show creator Rebecca Sugar about the issue yet.

Sugar previously did confirm that fans can expect a full-length fourth season for "Steven Universe," but she cannot guarantee that the show will be renewed for a fifth season.

The uncertainty of its renewal may stem from issues regarding censorship as "Steven Universe" is known to feature mature and sensitive themes like tackling queer relationships and several puberty problems.

"There have been fights [with Cartoon Network]. I try to be very emphatic about what I wanna do, and why I wanna do it, and I've been very lucky," Sugar said during the Comic-Con panel this year.

In the meantime, fans can still enjoy the remaining episodes of "Steven Universe" season 4 on Cartoon Network.
