'Stranger Things' season 2 plot news: 3 new characters announced for the next season
"Stranger Things" was a surprise hit for Netflix. The Stephen King/80s-inspired series was a huge hit with audiences, and fans cannot wait to get more details on the upcoming season. Recently, three new characters have been announced for the show, and one of them seems to be coming from the same experimental program that Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) found herself in.
According to TV Line, the three new characters will have "major" roles in season two. First off, the boys will be hanging out with another young female character named Max. The character is said to be 12–14 years old, and she is described to be a "tough" and "confident" character who shares the same interest with the boys. Instead of a bike, Max prefers to zip around the town of Hawkins on a skateboard.
A good guess is that Max will be filling in the void that Eleven has left in her wake. After El's disappearance in the season finale, audiences will need to look upon another strong female character. It's also possible that she could be a love interest for Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and could be a rival to El if she ever returns.
Max will also have an older brother introduced in the next season, and he is named Billy. He's also confident and a tad muscular, and his vehicle of choice is a Camaro. It's possible that his interactions could be with the older teen crowd like Nancy (Natalie Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton).
Lastly, there's Roman, a "gender-neutral" character. Roman is said to be a character who has suffered a great loss and has been going out for revenge ever since. It's quite possible that he has ties with Dr. Brenner's (Matthew Modine) experimental program. After all, if El is the eleventh, there must be 10 people who came before her.
The second season of "Stranger Things" will reportedly premiere next summer.
