'Street Fighter 5' news update: modder builds makeshift Arcade Mode
Modder and game designer Resvrgam is working on an Arcade Mode via mods for "Street Fighter 5" and hopes that it will give Capcom an idea to add one to the game.
Resvrgam's mod is still in its early form so there are bugs that needed fixing. Whether he will release it or not after he irons out the issues remains to be seen.
The game designer spoke about his "Street Fighter 5" Arcade Mode on his YouTube channel and explained in the description why he chose to create one.
"The game sold for $60 USD at launch without it and, as of this video, there is still no officially supported Arcade Mode for Street Fighter V (that awful Story Mode doesn't count)," he wrote.
"With that said, I started this project because I had some free time on my holiday break and thought I'd have a go at a game that's been collecting dust on my hard drive," he went on to say.
He described this "Street Fighter 5" Arcade Mode includes scripting sequences of CPU opponents in the Versus Mode mixed with "new UI elements to accommodate the Arcade Mode's dependencies."
Resvrgam showed off his makeshift Arcade Mode on his YouTube channel. It offers various difficulty settings. After a player wins two rounds, the next challenge is shown cycling through the roster.
A decent Arcade Mode is something that "Street Fighter 5" players have been wanting to see. However, Capcom maintains its silence with regard to that possibility.
There are hopes that the poor sales performance of "Street Fighter 5" will have Capcom rethink about its stand on the Arcade Mode.
Back in October, after the sales plummeted, the community has called for a revamp. Gamers hope that the developer will heed their call in order to save the game before it is too late.
