'Suits' season 6 spoilers: Will Rachel be the next one to leave the firm for good?

Rachel (Meghan Markle) must make a difficult decision when USA's hit legal drama "Suits" returns for the back half of season 6 next year.

Following the shocking departure of Jessica Pearson, fans have been wondering how the remaining characters will move forward without one-third of Pearson Specter Litt's (P.S.L.) top brass. According to TV Line, the series kicks off next year with Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) offering his daughter, Rachel, a chance to make a career move and leave the company that started her career. She will then be forced to come up with a decision that could change her life forever.

"Her father is going to say, 'Listen, it was one thing when Jessica was there. She's not there, and I'm not sure that firm is going to survive without her. Come work for me,'" executive producer Aaron Korsh told the publication, adding, "She's got to decide: Is she going to stay at Pearson Specter, or is she going to go work for her dad?"

The part-time associate/paralegal has been with her employer for a long time now, but after the firm lost one of its top partners in Jessica, Rachel has lost the person she looks up to the most. Although this could significantly affect her decision, it remains to be seen how she'll weigh her options in the end.

As spoiler reports point out, Rachel has been a loyal employee of P.S.L. since the series began back in 2011. Her co-workers in the firm have become family to her, making some fans doubt if she would ever decide to leave the company for good, especially during this difficult time. Additionally, Rachel has been very vocal about how she doesn't want to remain in the shadow of her famed father, so it would be surprising if she ends up taking Robert's offer.

The sixth season of "Suits" returns to the small screen on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
