'Super Mario' Nintendo Switch release date news 2016: Trailer reveals game
An all-new "Super Mario" game is coming for the all-new Nintendo console, the Nintendo Switch. In a three-minute preview trailer released by Nintendo, gamers get first glimpse of the "Super Mario" game. It was displayed in a television while a woman is executing the Nintendo Switch in action.
Polygon even went deep into the trailer and scrubbed frame by frame to find out more about the upcoming Mario game. The report said that Mario's triple jump is back. The three-part flip jump was popularized in "Super Mario 64" but was missing in his more recent renderings in "Super Mario 3D Land" and "Super Mario 3D World."
Another item from the "Super Mario 64" that the keen-eyed people of Polygon noticed is the spinning heart. This element is capable of restoring Mario's health.
Also, it seems that in the upcoming game, Mario is headed somewhere new. "Super Mario" for Nintendo Switch's locale looks like a Mexican Day of the Dead-themed town, inhabited by colorful calavera and sombrero-wearing, maraca-shaking residents. Mario is also seen jumping around in a desert-looking region.
The trailer also shows the Nintendo Switch utilizing its capability to be both a home and portable console.
The Nintendo Switch's three-minute trailer is just packed loaded with the good stuff. Aside from revealing a new "Super Mario," it also showed five more games such as "The Legend of Zelda," "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim," "Mario Kart," an NBA game and "Splatoon."
According to Game N Guide, the new "Super Mario" will be the backbone of the new Nintendo console while "Splatoon" will target e-sports making it explicit for the Nintendo Switch.
Other games speculated to get a Switch version include Platinum Games' "Bayonetta 2" and "The Wonderful 101."
There is no official name yet for the upcoming "Super Mario" game nor any information about its release, but more information are expected to come out as the launch of the Nintendo Switch comes close. The console is expected to be released in March 2017.
