'Supergirl' season 2 spoilers news 2016: Martian Manhunter actor teases title of upcoming season's premiere episode; The CW to air season 1 leading up to season 2
"Supergirl" has found a new home in The CW, and in preparation for the superhero series' October premiere, the network has announced it will air the show's entire first season ahead of time. This is something fans would enjoy as they anticipate "Supergirl" season 2's return.
According to Entertainment Weekly, The CW will start airing two episodes from "Supergirl's" first season every Monday night beginning on August 1. Apparently, this is the network's way of formally welcoming the series to its new network.
Aside from a new home for its second season, "Supergirl" is slated to inject new characters including former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter, who will be cast as the president of the United States and Tyler Hoechlin of "Teen Wolf" as Kara Zor-el's cousin, Superman.
Meanwhile, Cinemablend said that the premiere episode of "Supergirl" season 2 already has a title, and David Harewood, who plays Hank Henshaw/Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onnz, has just shared a sneak peek of it on his Instagram account.
The episode title is just as fun and exciting as fans are expecting, especially as it was rendered using the same font that has become closely identified with "Superman." If speculations are true, the episode title "The Adventures of Supergirl" could be played on one of "The Adventures of Superman's" many iterations, perhaps to allude to Clark Kent's impending inception into Kara's story.
In "Supergirl," only Jimmy Olsen seems to be up to speed with Superman's whereabouts, but he's been keeping all the details to himself. Even cousin Kara has only been communicating with her cousin through instant messaging. Hence, it would be a treat for fans to see Martian Manhunter, Superman, and Supergirl fighting side-by-side in the upcoming season.
The International Business Times said it would be worth anticipating how The CW would integrate "Supergirl" into the existing Arrowverse, or what has come to be known as the connection between other superhero shows airing on the network – "Arrow," "The Flash," and "Legends of Tomorrow."
"Supergirl" season 2 will air on Oct. 17, at 8 p.m., on The CW.
