'Supergirl' season 2 spoilers news: 'Major' detail leaked about upcoming installment? First look at 'super' cousins in costume

"Supergirl" season 2 is debuting this October in a brand new home, and with its entry to The CW's "Arrowverse" is the arrival of the titular character's super popular cousin Clark Kent, otherwise known as Superman. What's in store for fans this upcoming season?

According to Comicbook.com, "Supergirl's " producer, Sarah Schechter, believe that bring in Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) into the story and seeing him interacting with his cousin Kara Zor-El/Karen Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) would change viewers' perception of the two.

"It just gives us a different window into Kara and frankly, into Clark," she said. "A Superman that people haven't met before is a Superman who has Supergirl in his life. So I think it's fun to see both of them," Schechter was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, iDigital Times shared a short video of Hoechlin garbed in his super suit. The video doesn't give away much as far as Hoechlin's role as Superman is concerned, but it does give a poignantly exciting glimpse of "Supergirl" season 2's fresh start in a new home.

Incidentally, the video was released a few days after The CW officially revealed a photo of Supergirl and Superman standing side by side suited up in their battle gears. Check out more photos here.

In related news, Yahoo TV caught up with the cast of "Supergirl" season 2 during the San Diego Comic-Con, which included Benoist, Hoechlin, Mehcad Brooks (Jimmy Olsen), Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers), David Harewood (Hank Henshaw), and Jeremy Jordan (Winn). There, they shared their feelings about the show's renewal after CBS dropped it after its maiden season.

Brooks, in particular, said he "cried like a baby" when he found out a second season was given the go, albeit in a different home. The cast likewise said the upcoming installment would be "much better" and "much focused" than the pilot season.

Another [major] plot detail purportedly leaked by the cast during Yahoo's interview is the planned addition of one of Batman's villains, Music Meister, to the season 2 cast of "Supergirl." To date, the only confirmed newcomer to season 2 is Chris Wood, but his role is still being kept a secret from fans.
