'Supernatural' season 12 episode 5 spoilers: Thule Society returns with grand plan
The Führer is coming to The CW — or he could be if the Winchesters don't act fast enough to stop him in the upcoming fifth episode of "Supernatural" season 12.
Curiously titled, "The One You've Been Waiting For," the episode will be picking up from the Thule Society's persistent plans of resurrecting Adolf Hitler to the modern world. This time, it seems like the underground society of necromancers is going to succeed, as executive producer Andrew Dabb teased TV Line back in September saying, "Sam and Dean are going to fight Hitler, and that's opening up some interesting doors for us in terms of just doing some more crazy stuff."
The episode synopsis describes a 1930s gold pocket watch possessed by Hitler's soul. Apparently, whoever holds it goes berserk and launches a killing spree. The episode trailer starts off by showing a crime scene wherein someone has just been turned into "ash and bone."
"What does that to a human being?" the coroner on the case asks Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), who are disguised as FBI agents.
It is not clear whether the ash-and-bone corpse once owned the pocket watch or if he's the victim of someone who does. What's definite, though, is that the Winchesters will eventually find themselves in the cursed timepiece's deadly path, so much so that Dean is even considering firing a grenade at their adversary by the end of the short preview.
"Veronica Mars" alum Adam Rose will be reprising his role as Aaron Bass, who has previously decided to embrace his grandfather's legacy and continue the Judah Initiative's fight against the Thules. He could be the one to bring the Winchesters up to speed on the real deal about the cursed pocket watch and the Führer's impending resurrection.
Will their combined efforts be enough to keep Hitler dead? Will smashing the cursed timepiece annihilate his soul for good, or end up jumpstarting his resurrection?
If and when he does appear, who will play "Supernatural's" version of the infamous leader of the Nazis?
"Supernatural" season 12 episode 5 airs on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
