"Supernatural" season 12 will not be the end of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) story. This is what The CW president Mark Pedowitz stated during an interview with Variety.

"As long as ratings stay stable, and they want to do the show, and I'm still in the chair, I'm going to be their biggest supporter to continue," Pedowitz said.

"I think 'Supernatural' is going to be around in some form long after I move off this chair, and the best thing I can do for the guys, and for the studio, and for the showrunners is basically make sure we don't mess them up," he continued.

"Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke never imagined the success the show is enjoying now. He did not think they will make it past year four.

And as "Supernatural" season 12 inches closer, he reminisced how tough it was to prolong the show's lifespan on the network with meetings after every season with The CW "pleading" for the show's continuation.

Kripke had doubts about the show's fate and admitted that the addition of Castiel played by Misha Collins helped him let go of those.

The fan-favorite angel is getting some love in "Supernatural" season 12 in the form of standalone episodes and story arcs surrounding him.

In addition that, Collins recently revealed that his character will team up with Crowley (Mark Shepard) in taking down Lucifer (to be initially played by Rick Springfield) in "Supernatural" season 12.

The unlikely duo found something in common that led to their team-up. Castiel has a bone to pick with Lucifer after what he did to him last season while Crowley just wants him out so he can lead hell in peace.

Collins teased that exciting adventure of the "Supernatural" tandem can be described as a 1970s sitcom or 1980s buddy cop comedy-style.

"Supernatural" season 12 will premiere on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
