The Winchester brothers are about to spend time behind bars when "Supernatural" returns to The CW for the second half of season 12.

Based on the trailer for the upcoming episode titled "First Blood," Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will be accused of plotting to kill the president of the United States. This will cause them to be locked up in an unknown place, in which no one can easily reach them.

This will not be the first time for the Winchesters to be arrested but their latest brush with the law is something that they have not experienced in the past.

"The people that have them" — the government, not the British of Men of Letters — "think they're real, legitimate criminals, albeit kind of terrorists more than your common thief or anything like that," executive producer Andrew Dabb told TVLine. "Sam and Dean [are] facing something where it's not like they can do what they normally do."

But Castiel (Misha Collins) and the Winchester matriarch Mary (Samantha Smith) will not stop until they discover where the authorities have kept them, even if they have been behind bars for more than six weeks already.

Meanwhile, another report claims that Dean will experience a severe loss of memory. But this could give him more benefits than harm since he had experienced a lot of hardships from the past. "For him, as someone who struggles with all the baggage from years and years of doing a very, very difficult job, it almost becomes freeing, in a way," Dabb stated in a separate interview with the same publication.

This means that fans of the series will finally see a less-stressed but childlike Dean in the second half of "Supernatural" season 12. However, this will cause him to drift apart from his loved ones, particularly his brother Sam.

The CW will air the midseason premiere of "Supernatural" season 12 on Thursday, Jan. 26.
