T.D. Jakes Adds Joyce Meyer, Others to MegaFest Speaker Lineup
Megachurch Pastor T.D. Jakes announced this week that he will be adding two prominent evangelical leaders to his popular MegaFest Christian festival, set to take place this August in Dallas, Texas.
Jakes, the pastor of The Potter's House in Texas, announced this week in a press release that he will be adding famed evangelical speaker Joyce Meyers and evangelical Australian activist Christine Caine to the already strong lineup of speakers and events at this year's MegaFest, set to take place in Dallas August 20 to 22.
According to the press release, speakers at this year's family-friendly festival will also include Bishop Tudor Bismarck, Dr. R.A. Vernon, Joyce Rodgers, and Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams.
"We are pleased to add each and every one of these world-renowned inspirational leaders to our expanding MegaFest lineup," Jakes said in a statement. "These speakers' international reach stretches across three continents and demonstrates the worldwide impact of MegaFest."
In regard to his massive Christian festival, Jakes previously told The Christian Post that he sees the event as more of a "celebration" than a conference.
"It is more than a conference," Jakes previously told the media outlet. "It's a festival. It's a celebration. It's a commitment to the American spirit, that no matter what we go through, no matter how tough, no matter how dark the night, somehow we always land on our feet. And when we do, in spite of how difficult, we should take the time to celebrate the momentous occasion, and to enjoy the festival and fellowship. Because when we start to say thank you and to enjoy the moments, then that is worship at its best."
