Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston dating news 2016: 'Thor' star defends relationship, says they're 'together' and 'very happy'
Tom Hiddleston has recently spoken up about his controversial relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift. In an interview, the "Thor: Ragnarok" star declared that his relationship with the singer is not fake or a "publicity stunt," as many observers claimed it to be.
Hiddleston was recently interviewed regarding his Emmy nomination for his role in "The Night Manager." In the course of his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, talk eventually touched on his relationship with the "Bad Blood" hit-maker. Their whirlwind romance has so far received a lot of media and public scrutiny, with most putting it down as a publicity stunt.
The 35-year-old actor graciously put it, "Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we're very happy. Thanks for asking. That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."
On MTV News, the British actor once again set the record straight regarding the status of his relationship with the 26-year-old pop star, saying they are indeed together and happy about it.
That should be enough to put to rest all doubts going around about the pair only putting on a show for the sake of headlines. The public went all abuzz when the two started being snapped together frequently, very openly making some displays of affection.
Hiddleston and Swift have been inseparable since June, when they were first photographed together in Rhode Island sharing a kiss. And the reason for all the excitement was that, two weeks before, Swift had only just broken up with her boyfriend of 15 months, DJ and music producer Calvin Harris.
"Hiddleswift," as fans of the new couple refer to them, may have taken their relationship too rapidly for the public to appreciate. Soon after their romance began, it was quickly reported that Swift had brought Hiddleston to meet her parents in Nashville, Tennessee. Then just a week afterwards, Hiddleston took the songstress to Suffolk, England to meet his mother.
While people may think that the couple's affair seems to be going too fast, the "Blank Space" singer was said to have been "hesitant" to go into another relationship so soon, but also felt that Hiddleston might be "the one," as what an insider told EW.
But if there's anyone to point fingers at for the whirlwind pace of their relationship, it would be Hiddleston, who confessed to Vulture that he "can't do anything by halves" and whenever he goes into something, he does it "to the exclusion of everything else."
