Taylor Swift New Song 'Style' Video 2015: Bashes an Ex-BF Once Again
Taylor Swift has released another sensational music video titled "Style" which grabbed headlines in many printed and online publications as she once again resorted to bashing a former boyfriend through her music.
Following the video's release, Swift appeared at the 40th anniversary celebration of Saturday Night Live at the Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. There in a special skit, she played a role in "The Californians" and proceeded to eat her fake hair.
Reviewers pointed out that the video was full of references to her former boyfriend Harry Styles, whom Swift broke up with several years ago. In addition to the obvious reference to him in the title, there is also mention of a boy with long hair that is slicked back, who supposedly can't focus on "keeping his eyes on the road."
The video also features Swift holding a necklace made from paper with an airplane on it, which is pretty similar to one that Styles normally wears. Commenting on the video, Vanity Fair stated that even though Swift has remained friends with Styles, this did not stop her from writing a song about their relationship. Also last year, in an interview to Rolling Stone before her "1989" album was released, Swift spoke about the songs on it and stated that "Style" should have been named "I'm Not Even Sorry."
With "Style" continuing the long tradition of Swift bashing her exes in her songs, many of her fans were no longer surprised. However gossip soon spread on the Internet that Styles wanted her to move on from their relationship.
As for the "Style" video, many have compared it to scenes from the hit TV series "True Detective."
Others say the video does not focus on a story but instead has a number of "artistic" photos of Swift merged with nature or wearing red lipstick and rushing through a field. Vanity Fair states that the video has "all the trappings of a classic Swift video" and is both intimate and sexy.
