The search for Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) continues in the upcoming episode of MTV's hit supernatural drama "Teen Wolf" season 6.

Titled "Sundowning," next week's episode will center on the group's effort to keep one friend safe from being erased from existence. According to the official synopsis for episode 3, Stiles is still nowhere to be seen. Lydia (Holland Roden), Scott (Tyler Posey) and Malia (Shelley Hennig) are more determined to track down their missing friend, Stiles, after he was completely erased from existence. Meanwhile, Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) and the others throw a huge party in an effort to keep one of their friends safe from the Ghost Riders, who took Stiles away.

Stiles may no longer be around in this week's episode "Superposition," but it doesn't necessarily mean that there is a shortage of Stilinski family members in Beacon Hills. Tuesday's "Teen Wolf" saw the unexpected return of Stiles' mother, who died more than a decade ago. Unfortunately, how she managed to reappear among the living remains to be seen.

Speaking with TV Line, executive producer Jeff Davis weighed in on the plot twist that intrigued many viewers. "We really wanted to show what Sheriff Stilinski's life would be like without Stiles," he explained. "A long time ago, we thought, 'What if he loses Stiles, but gets something back in return? What if he gets his wife back? What does that mean? Where the f–k did she come from? How is this possible? That's a big part of the mystery, and we have a lot of fun with it."

As for the message ("mischief") Lydia received from the other side, Davis confirmed that has more significance than what viewers think. The EP mentioned that it is a clue to Stiles' first name. "It's a clue, it's a definite clue," he continued. "That word was not chosen randomly."

The 6th and final season of "Teen Wolf" airs every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
