'Teen Wolf' season 6 news: Cast, EP talk life without Stiles, character deaths, possible spinoff
The cast of "Teen Wolf" at the New York Comic Con (NYCC) on Saturday, Oct. 8, talked about the show's sixth and final season and teased the upcoming character deaths a possible series spinoff.
"Teen Wolf" star Tyler Posey (Scott McCall) and fellow cast members Shelley Hennig (Malia Tate), Linden Ashby (Sheriff Stilinski), Melissa Ponzio (Melissa McCall), and Holland Roden (Lydia Martin) were accompanied by executive producer Jeff Davis at the NYCC.
"There is a number of people showing up," Davis revealed about the show's final run. The "Teen Wolf" boss confirmed that Ian Bohen, who was a recurring guest star until season 4, will be back as Peter Hale.
Davis also teased the possible return of Tyler Hoechlin, who played the mysterious werewolf Derek Hale from seasons 1 to 4. Hoechlin is set to make his small screen debut as Superman/Clark Kent in the upcoming second season of The CW's "Supergirl."
Apart from the possible return of some fan favorites, Davis also said that some characters may not make it to the end of the series.
"Certain characters may find their end in this season," he revealed.
"Some of them will go on; some of them will end," Davis later told Entertainment Weekly in interview with Entertainment Weekly after the NYCC "Teen Wolf" panel. But whether or not some fan-favorite characters will be killed off, the "Teen Wolf" boss promised that the writing team will do its best to "give a great finale to each character as well as the show."
The cast also spoke to the outlet about what life will be like for the rest of the characters after Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O'Brien) is taken by the Ghost Riders. According to Ashby, Stiles' mom will be forever altered by her son's disappearance. "It changes who you are as a human being," she said.
As for Malia, Hennig said the werecoyote will be "out of control" without Stiles by her side.
During the NYCC panel, Davis revealed that he had considered a spinoff for the teen drama some years ago.
"We wanted to do as Eichen House as its own spinoff with Doctor Deaton as the head of Eichen gathering a supernatural team," he said, referring to the mental health facility within the show's fictional world.
MTV's teen supernatural drama is set to conclude its split arc final season on its 100th episode in 2017. "Teen Wolf" season 6 will consist of 20 episodes.
"Teen Wolf" season 6 premieres Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9 p.m. EDT on MTV.
