'Teen Wolf' season 6 release date, plot spoilers: Upcoming season will be teen drama's last
The upcoming sixth season of "Teen Wolf" will be its last.
"Teen Wolf" showrunner Jeff Davis announced the impending conclusion of the popular MTV supernatural drama at the San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 21.
The news was not entirely surprising as fans have long suspected that the exits of various cast members could mean that the show is coming to an end. In a recent interview, Tyler Posey, the show's star, said that his character, Scott, will be thinking of leaving Beacon Hills after graduation, another major hint that the show is about to air its last few episodes.
In a statement about the impending end of "Teen Wolf," Davis called the series an "extraordinary journey" and expressed gratitude to those who supported the MTV show.
"We're eternally grateful for the support we've received over these past six years and we're excited to take our brave fans on one last, thrilling adventure," he said.
During the announcement at Comic-Con, the "Teen Wolf" boss said, "I know we're sad about it and it's bittersweet but we're so happy to be able to come to Comic-Con and share it with you guys."
"Teen Wolf" actress Holland Roden looked back at her time on the series and said that it has been "the craziest ride."
"I probably wouldn't be acting if it wasn't for this show," she added.
"There's nothing negative about all this," Posey promised, adding, "I'm really happy. I'm going to cry my eyes out [at the end]. And it's going to be an ugly-cry too."
At the show's Comic-Con panel, Davis also revealed that the sixth and final season of "Teen Wolf" will feature some familiar faces, including Peter (Ian Bohen) and several others.
"Teen Wolf" season 6 will debut on MTV in November. It will consist of 20 episodes and will air its final episode in 2017, with episode 100 being its last.
