'Teen Wolf' season 6B spoilers: EP hints major time jump in midseason premiere; familiar faces set to return
After Stiles' (Dylan O'Brien) return, "Teen Wolf" will feature a big time jump when the back half of season 6 airs this summer.
Tuesday's midseason finale left off with Scott (Tyler Posey) and his friends defeating Mr. Douglas (Pete Ploszek) and the Ghost Riders. Stiles came back to the land of the living and finally kissed Lydia (Holland Roden), while Malia (Shelley Hennig) and Argent (Crystal Reed) also shared a romantic moment of their own. The senior members of the pack celebrated the end of high school, with Lydia off to MIT as a junior, Stiles signing up for a pre-FBI program at George Washington University, and Scott heading to UC Davis.
Speaking with Hollywood Life, executive producer Jeff Davis confirmed that there will be a time jump as the series when the supernatural drama returns for its second batch of episodes. "It picks up several months later after Scott and the others have graduated and about to head off into their lives," Davis said. He also went on to say: "And, of course, something happens to interrupt that where they realize that they may have to stay in Beacon Hills just a little bit longer before they can finally say goodbye. It happens to be incredibly challenging or their most challenging adversaries ever?"
As the show inches closer to its finale, familiar faces are expected to return. Davis revealed to TV Line that characters who have been out of the picture for a long time will come back. One of those people will be Scott's dad, whose arrival was already announced in December. According to the EP, Agent McCall (Matthew Del Negro) goes to Beacon Hills out of "necessity." A new threat puts the town in a chaotic state, so he returns as an FBI agent to investigate. Other storylines that will be further explored this season is Mason's (Khylin Rhambo) new position in the pack, as well as Malia and Peter's (Ian Bohen) relationship.
The final 10 episodes of "Teen Wolf" season 6 premieres in summer 2017 on MTV. The network has yet to announce an official release date.
