'Tekken 7' release date, news and updates: New trailer highlights Kazuya-Heihaci rivalry
Though the arcade version has been available in Japan for quite awhile, the platform release of "Tekken 7" won't find its way to the market till next year. A new trailer has been released for the game, however, and it seems to look lback on all the previous installments in the "Tekken" franchise.
The clip lasts for almost 2 minutes, and it focuses more on the storyline than the actual gameplay. There are a lot of clips focusing on the Heihachi-Kazuya rivalry, and it looks like Kazuya will be getting his own devil version which can emit laser blasts from an eye on his forehead. Devil Jin in the game also has the ability to shoot lasers from his head, and he also has the ability to fly for short periods of time during matches.
There's also a new look at the characters who will be coming to the game, and they all seem to have new outfits. One character who looks like Nina Williams in a bridal dress can be seen, as well as the robot character Asuka. Bryan can be seen with a new bandana mask, and a whole new design for Yoshimitsu is also coming to the game.
Reports have also said that the game will be hosting a whole batch of newcomers like Caludio Derafino, Josie Rizal, Katarina Alves, Shaheen and Lucky Chloe. Another member of the Mishima clan is also set to appear in the form of Kazumi Mishima, who is all dressed in classic shrine maiden garb. There also looks to be another robot character added to the game by the name of Gigas.
Despite the new faces coming to the game, there's no doubt that fans are excited for the arrival of "Street Fighter" baddie Akuma to the "Tekken" franchise. "Tekken" characters have crossed over before with "Tekken x Street Fighter" back in 2012, but this is the first time that a "Street Fighter" character has moved over to the "Tekken" fighting arena.
"Tekken 7" is expected to release early next year.
