Tesla Model 3 release date and specifications news: Impressive electric vehicle, modest price to come in 2017
In a real attempt to bring electric cars ready for general use, Tesla has recently unveiled the Model 3. The manufacturers are hoping that they can bring it to people by 2017.
According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the car will be incredibly affordable at $35,000 to start off, but they will not sacrifice the car's performance and aesthetics as they bring it to the masses.
Musk announced that the car will be available by the end of next year and will be the best for its price, from any angle.
According to The Verge, there are more than 115,000 people who have pre-ordered the vehicle, with the down payment for the car only at $1,000. And with the car being unveiled, there is no doubt that the numbers will continue to increase.
Musk was undoubtedly confident with his claims, and added that the car will be able to go from 0-60 mph in less than six seconds. For a car that can work on electricity, this is quite a big claim, but Tesla seems confident that they can back it up.
Below is a quick video of what the Tesla Model 3 looks like:
The price range is extremely surprising for Tesla, given that they have two cars that are considered luxurious due to their high price.
The Model S and Model X are priced over $100,000 but feature some of the more advanced technology for a vehicle.
This brings to question how the Tesla Model 3 will fare given that they are being priced at almost one-third that of their other offerings.
There should still be more news as the days go on regarding the Tesla Model 3, but car enthusiasts can expect the interest to grow as the upcoming electric car gets more exposure on various media sites. Stay tuned for more updates.
