'The 100' season 4 spoilers: nuclear apocalypse divides Clarke and co. as new Grounder steps up
"The 100" season 4 will see Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and company deal with their biggest threat yet — planet Earth on the verge of dying due to a nuclear meltdown.
This new wave of destruction will, without a doubt, spawn a new kind of war and terror. It will divide people, who will deal differently with the impending apocalypse.
"If you can't stop the end of the world, how can you find hope?" showrunner Jason Rothenberg mused with Entertainment Weekly of the predicament that the characters will be dealing with in "The 100" season 4.
"Some people will cling to their loved ones, some people will fight to their last breath, and some people are just done fighting," he went on to say.
Clarke and company will respond very differently to the situation at hand. Not everyone will be in battle mode come "The 100" season 4. That being said, this should treat fans with a deeper look at the dispositions of the characters and how they responded in the face of danger. Clarke, who is being blamed for making the choice of ending A.L.I.E. (Erica Cerra) in exchange for a six-month lifeline for the planet, is expected to work hard to survive (and help others do the same ) in "The 100" season 4. In her efforts, she will come across a Grounder by the name of Ilian (Chai Romruen), who believes that the Sky People are responsible for this inescapable new threat.
Not much is known about this "The 100" season 4 newcomer except that he does not want to experience once again to be controlled by A.L.I.E. into doing heinous things.
The new season will also see Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) and Bellamy's (Bob Morley) relationship get a bigger crack after the former leaves the latter as she deals with the death of Lincoln (Ricky Whittle).
"The 100" season 4 premieres Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
