'The Bachelorette' 2015 Cast News, Spoilers: 2 Women from 'The Bachelor' Featured in First Episode
The surprising twist in the "The Bachelor" finale that saw Chris Soules propose to Whitney Bischoff was the news that the upcoming season of "The Bachelorette" would feature two women from "The Bachelor" in its initial episode.
Host Chris Harrison made the announcement that Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson, who were contestants during the last season of "The Bachelor," would be the two women.
Confusion soon followed the announcement that Bristowe and Nilsson would star in "The Bachelorette" where 25 men will make their choice for a partner between them. The two women seemed perplexed and disappointed by the knowledge that both of them would be in contention for the "best wife" title on the first episode of "The Bachelorette."
Many men who have been given the final rose on previous seasons of "The Bachelorette" were quick to either criticize or applaud the decision made by producers of the show.
J.P. Rosenbaum, who won Ashley Hebert's heart in 2011 on "The Bachelorette," said he was "lucky enough to marry my best friend, who has since given birth to our firstborn child, a healthy and beautiful baby boy."
Rosenbaum said the show has helped many love stories to happen and that choosing two women would create more buzz and bring in more viewers even though it strayed from the original format of having just one bachelorette.
However, many other former contestants on the show criticized the choice of two women, with some even saying it was "degrading" to the two women involved. Among the voices of dissent was former "Bachelor" contestant Sean Lowe who said in a blog post that it wasn't a very good idea. Lowe's wife Catherine, whom he met on "The Bachelor," even went as far as terming it as "disgusting."
Catherine said the first night on the show will most likely include very little interaction between the 25 men and the two women and the men will then have to resort to basing their decision on the contestants' looks and nothing else.
