'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 spoilers news: Kunal Nayyar says upcoming season could be the last
"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 could be the show's last.
In a recent interview, "The Big Bang Theory" star Kunal Nayyar, who plays Raj in the long-running CBS sitcom, said what fans of the show have been dreading to hear ahead of the season 10 premiere later this year.
Appearing with his "The Spoils" co-star Jesse Eisenberg on the UK's "This Morning," Nayyar told program hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that "The Big Bang Theory" may very well end along with its forthcoming tenth season.
"It's very rare now for a television show to be on this long," the actor said, as quoted by Express.
According to Nayyar, he and the rest of his "Big Bang Theory" castmates know how lucky they are to be one of the few American network shows — and a sitcom at that — to have lasted so long. As the actor said, they all treasure "The Big Bang Theory" and their involvement in the popular CBS series.
But that doesn't mean that any of them has a say on whether or not the sitcom will continue on after season 10.
"I don't know to be honest, it could be the end, hopefully it's not..." Nayyar said. "The decisions are not up to us. We'll see what happens."
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter back in December 2015, "The Big Bang Theory" executive producer Steve Molaro addressed fans' concerns about the show's future, saying, "I can't speak to the future or on behalf of the cast or where we'll be then but it's certainly possible that it could go past that."
However, he added, "The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point."
"The Big Bang Theory," which first aired in 2007, follows the lives of four geeky but lovable friends living in California. Since its debut, the show has launched the careers of many of its stars, including Jim Parsons (Sheldon), Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Simon Helberg (Howard), and Johnny Galecki (Leonard).
"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 debuts Sept. 19 on CBS.
