'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 spoilers, news: Sheldon and Leonard to share parents? Penny's wedding ruined?
The season 9 finale of "The Big Bang Theory" could have a bearing on Sheldon and Leonard's relationship, and it could ruin Penny's wedding, too.
When "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 aired its finale, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) were enjoying their pre-wedding dinner with family and friends. Leonard's father, Alfred (Judd Hirsch), and Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), became friends but gave everyone, especially Sheldon and Leonard, a scare when they disappeared together from the dinner.
The fact that they both turned their mobile phones off and that they were staying at the same hotel made fans speculate that something would brew between them; thus, Leonard and Sheldon could become stepbrothers.
Parent Herald said that Steve Molaro, executive producer of "The Big Bang Theory" did not discount the possible sexual tension between Alfred and Mary. Season 10 could see Leonard and Sheldon trying everything they can to stop their respective parent from falling in love or getting married.
"We're left with a good amount of tension between all the parents. There's a lot of fallout the following morning before we even get to the ceremony, if we even do," Molaro told Entertainment Weekly.
Whether Alfred and Mary hooked up or not remains to be seen. If they did, then the resulting family feud could affect Penny and Leonard's wedding.
Meanwhile, Design and Trend said that "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 would also focus on Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette's (Melissa Rauch) preparations for the arrival of their first child. Moreover, a call from the Air Force could affect the current experiment of Howard and his friends.
Fans are still wondering if season 10 would be the series' last, given that Molaro announced back in December 2015 that "maybe season 10 is the ending point." Nevertheless, Metro observed that Molaro sang a different tune when he spoke about the show in March 2016.
"I'll keep pushing forward and, as we learn more, we'll adjust if necessary. If everything keeps going the way it's been going, absolutely [I'm up for more]," he said.
Parsons and Cuoco have previously said that they don't have problems doing more of the show as long as everyone else would be willing to go for the long haul.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will premiere on CBS on Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET.
