The Bridge Season 3 Release Date: Series Canceled or Renewed?
September 2014 passed without a word about The Bridge getting renewed for a third season. Fans are hopeful, but with its low ratings, many suspect that a renewal is unlikely.
Season one had an average of 1.5 million, with only half a million on average for viewers within the 18-49 demographic. There was a significant drop in ratings for Season 2, which only had an average of 1.1 million overall viewers and 0.36 million viewers within the 18-49 demographic.
After two seasons, Kim Bodnia, who plays the character of Martin Rohde, announced that he will not be returning for another episode. Sofia Helin, however, will return as Saga Norén, assuming that the show will be renewed.
Swedish producer Anders Landstrøm in an interview with Sydsvenskan commented, "We had different perceptions of the season's content."
"Bodnia was not happy with how the character evolved. It is a shame, but we must move on and accept it", he added.
According to Seriable.com, show runner Elwood Reid has admitted that FX's plans for the series have not been confirmed, but he is still hopeful. Franka Potente also has high hopes about the show and wants to return for Season 3.
FX is expected to release their official announcement regarding the status of the show this October.
