'The Crow' reboot updates and news: 'Justice League' star joins the cast
A reboot of the 1994 cult classic "The Crow" is underway and reports are saying that the movie will star Jason Momoa from "Justice League." As of now, Momoa is busy working on the set of "Justice League" as Aquaman, also known as Arthur Curry, but as soon as he wraps filming, he is said to work straight on this project.
The movie will be directed by Corin Hardy, who is known for his fantasy horror film, "The Hollow." There is also news that the movie will be more faithful to the comic as compared to Alex Proyas' 1994 adaptation.
The creator of "The Crow" comic series, James O'Barr, is said to be heavily involved with the production. His cooperation could make this film a cult classic and fans of the comic will be happy to see another version of Eric Draven making his way to the big screen.
O'Barr had this to say about the movie: "[W]e're not remaking the movie. We're readapting the book. My metaphor is that there is a Bela Lugosi Dracula and there's a Francis Ford Coppola Dracula. They use the same material, but you still got two entirely different films. This one's going to be closer to 'Taxi Driver' or a John Woo film, and I think there's room for both of them. Part of the appeal of 'The Crow' comics, after all, is that they can tell very different stories."
''The Crow'' follows the story of Eric Draven, a vigilante who is killed but is brought back to life by a supernatural crow. He has come to exact revenge for his death and the death of his fiancée.
No official release date has been announced for the reboot of "The Crow."
