'The Division' DLC release date news: 'Survival' DLC arriving this week with update 1.5
"Survival," the second major downloadable content (DLC) for "The Division," will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 22 to the Xbox One and personal computer (PC), Ubisoft Massive has announced.
PlayStation players will have to wait until next month to be able to pick it up though. Either way, the expansion will be released alongside a new patch.
"The Division: Survival" DLC covers Manhattan with a blanket of snow, making the harsh weather conditions an extra enemy for players, who will have to scavenge food and avoid the virus infection all while making sure they do not freeze to death.
To add another layer of difficulty, the DLC will also be playable through PvP, where others can hunt down the players as they struggle to survive. PvE style will also be available in "The Division" DLC.
The "Survival" expansion will be released alongside the update 1.5. It will land on the Xbox One and PC first while it will take extra dates to arrive on the PS4.
Here is what Ubisoft has to say about the update:
"With Update 1.5, we're opening up the new World Tier 5, which comes with an increase in enemy level and Gear Score. In this new Tier, the enemies will be level 34 and the new maximum Gear Score for weapons and gear dropped will be 256 (compared to the current level 33 and Gear Score 229 at World Tier 4)."
The update will also bring in a dozen new weapons, four Named Weapons and six Named Gears in "The Division."
"An example worth looking at is the new sidearms coming in Update 1.5, like the Rhino variants and the burst fire pistol 93R. While the FrontLine Gear Set allows you to use a SMG with the shield, which is great, we don't want to make that the only viable shield build – the new sidearms, together with the ones already in the game, should allow you to create a powerful ballistic shield build without feeling forced to use FrontLine's 4-piece bonus," Ubisoft says of one of the new weapons coming to "The Division: Survival."
The B.L.I.N.D rifle will also be added, but with a different name—Urban MDR Assault Rifle. Players can about the complete update and DLC details here.
