'The Elder Scrolls 6 Argonia' Release Date News: Follow-Up To Skyrim Could Arrive in March 2016
In the world of role-playing video games, The Elder Scrolls franchise is synonymous with well designed games that have gone on to win a number of awards.
After the release of the much lauded "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," the attention of fans is now on rumors surrounding the sixth title in the series, "The Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia." Many have surmised that it could be released in March of 2016.
The last game in the franchise titled "The Elder Scrolls Online" was released this year for Windows and OS X. It was supposed to be released for the Xbox One and PS 4 consoles in June as well. But it was subsequently delayed until next year. While there is a chance "The Elder Scrolls Online" will be dropped this year, this is pretty slim as the year is about to end.
Rumors around the release of "The Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia" again took flight when ZeniMax put out a job advertisement on behalf of Bethesda Game Studios asking for developer to work on a yet to be announced game. This led many to believe that "The Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia" was in development.
However, others quickly pointed out that even though the ad mentioned "next generation consoles" such as the PS 4 and Xbox One, it specifically wanted people with experience working on Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. This led many to assume that the current engine is being updated instead of creating a new one.
While there has been no official announcement about the release of "The Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia," T3 notes that it could be a while before the game comes out, if development just started.
This was mirrored in the statement made by Todd Howard of Bethesda Games, who noted earlier this year that there would a big lull before any announcements about new games.
