'The Elder Scrolls Online' expansion update, latest news: Bethesda announces 'Morrowind' expansion to launch in June
Bethesda Softworks has recently announced the upcoming release of the "Morrowind" expansion of "The Elder Scrolls Online."
As reported by Den of Geek, the "Morrowind" expansion of "The Elder Scrolls Online" will allow players to re-explore the island of Vvardenfall, which was the main setting of the 2002 video game "The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind."
Although players will get to roam the same landscape features in the classic 2002 role-playing game, the timeline of the world in "The Elder Scrolls Online" will be different from the original game. The Vvardenfall in the online game is set a few hundred years before the events of "The Elder Scrolls 3."
In the "Morrowind" expansion, players must take on the role of a hero to help Vivec, the legendary warrior-poet and Guardian of Vvardenfell, and save the world from a deadly Daedric threat. Players must attempt to uncover the mystery behind Vivec's illness and find a way to bring him back to health.
The upcoming expansion will be the largest landmass addition to the online game to date. It will also feature a brand-new player class as well as a new and intense PvP mode. "Morrowind" will be introducing a new Warden class, which is capable of wielding powerful nature-based magic and which can be customized with a number of abilities to suit each gamer's playstyle.
Four different editions of the "Morrowind" expansion will be available once it is launched: the Standard Edition, the Upgrade Edition, the Digital Collector's Edition, and the physical Collector's Edition. Those who pre-order any edition of the expansion get to receive the Discovery Pack, containing an exclusive Warden costume, a Dwarven war dog, treasure maps, Dwarven crown crate, and experience scrolls.
"The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind" is scheduled for a worldwide release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC on June 6. The expansion will retail for $39.99, but new players will be able to purchase the main game as well as the expansion for $59.99.
