'The Elder Scrolls VI' release date, news and updates: Game to take place in Hammerfell?
Bethesda's release of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's" remastered edition was met with warm reception from the gaming community, but a lot of other players are already curious about the release of "Elder Scrolls VI." No official news of development has been announced but some are already speculating on what world the next game will bring gamers to.
Some fans on Reddit have been guessing that the next installment could very much take place in Hammerfell. The "Elder Scrolls" games actually take place in the world of Tamriel, and each installment takes the player into a specific region in the world e.g. Skyrim and Oblivion.
Hammerfell was once occupied by the Dwemer in the lore, but it has since been the home of the Redguards. The Redguards are a race of men known to be great warriors and swordsmen, and Hammerfell is also known to have a vast desert called the Alik'r Desert.
Others suggest that the next place could be Alinor. Alinor is the capital city of the Summerset Isles. The place is known to be one of the most ancient places in Tamriel and it has been called Alinor "before the ascendency of man."
Another fan theory suggests that the developers may bring them to the land of Argonia. Argonia is more popularly known as the "Black Marsh" and it is known to be the home of the reptilian race that is available to play in "Skyrim." The world is described as a "swampland rainforest" and it supposedly has great inland waterways and "impenetrable swamps."
So far, all of these suggested worlds have been a topic of fan speculation with no word from Bethesda on the actual status of the game. Fans are hopeful, however, that the studio releases some new information soon.
There is no official release date for "The Elder Scrolls VI."
