In a recent interview, creator of "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" Todd Howard assured fans of the game franchise that its highly anticipated successor is in the pipeline. However, it will take some time before it hit the shelves.

Howard confirms the existence of the game sequel with Glixel saying, "It's not what you would call a big, active project right now. There are some other ones that we have going. We know it's important to our fans, and we need to be careful about setting expectations." He reiterates, "It's certainly a game that we'll be making one day. I could sit here and explain to you exactly what we want it to be."

With the continuing success of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," there is no wonder why fans are excited to know when will it have a sequel. Unfortunately, the timeframe for the sequel remains unknown.

However, it can be recalled that there were earlier hints as to when will the world get to see an all-new "The Elder Scrolls" installment.

Some of the suspected hints were spotted during the Gamescom event last August when Bethesda Softworks vice president Pete Hines spoke about the "The Elder Scrolls 6" release and told GameStar, "Just so you know, not at the next Gamescom and not the one after that; there are at least two big games from Bethesda Games Studios before we get around to 'Elder Scrolls 6.'"

Following what Hines said, it sounded like 2019 could be the year. However, it is still hard to conclude that especially when Howard himself wants to be extra careful in what he says about the future game since, according to him, "The Elder Scrolls VI" is still "a very long way off."

In other news, Howard expressed his positive views about the Nintendo Switch. In the same Glixel interview, he admitted that he had the chance to play with it during the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) event last July and that Bethesda is "definitely going to be supporting it."
