For those hungry for a new game from "The Elder Scrolls" series, then this may be a bit of good news as game developer Bethesda confirmed that they are on their way to developing "The Elder Scrolls VI."

Known for its games like "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," the franchise has attracted a cult-like following and there is no sign of it slowing down.

The fourth and fifth editions of the games had a five-year gap between them. And with "Skyrim" being released in 2011, there has been a lot of talk as to the sixth edition of the game being available soon.

Now, Bethesda has finally announced that things are on its way, but with a stern reminder to fans that the game is still very far from the finished product.

Speaking via live stream during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, Bethesda chief game creator Todd Howard was questioned on whether a new installment of "The Elder Scrolls" is nearing its completion.

While he did reveal that the game is in its early development, he maintained that the game is still very far from being complete.

Howard said: "It's good in these moments to tell our fans, 'Yes, of course we are [making 'The Elder Scrolls 6']. It's something we love.' But it is – you know, I have to be careful what I say – it's a very long way off... I could sit here and explain the game to you, and you would say, 'That sounds like you don't even have the technology – how long is that going to take?'"

Therefore, while the game is still obviously far from completion, this little piece of information given by Howard should be a promising piece of evidence that fans would be able to play "TES 6," though not anytime soon.
